REAL WEDDING ADAM’S PEAK COUNTRY ESTATE CHARLY & ANDREW
With a heavy overseas contingent in their guestlist, this dazzling rustic wedding at Adams Peak Country Estate certainly had some international flair. As stunning bride, Charly relates, “We invited A LOT more people than Adams Peak could host, hoping that most of my family from Germany to decline haha… it all worked out and we managed to squeeze them into Adams Peak”. Read on to see more.
THE VENUE: “We saw 4 venues in the Hunter Valley, Adams Peak was the last one that day and we fell in love as soon as we saw it. We were looking for a venue that could host all my close family and friends on site, which wasn’t easy to find, so Adams Peak being able to host over 20+ people was a massive deciding factor. We wanted to go for a relaxed, autumnal and barn/ farm style vibe. My family owns a big farm back home so they felt right at home”
FAVOURITE DETAIL: “We were glad with the choice of favours (personalised luggage tags) we made. It was perfectly linked to our destination wedding and the history of our relationship. We got so many awesome messages and great feedback about them and they were all taken home, none left behind which is a great sign!”
FAVOURITE MOMENTS: “Andrew having to use my handkerchief all throughout the ceremony! I did not expect him being so emotional when I was walking down the aisle as well as all throughout the ceremony. Him building that into his speech was also pretty funny, turns out he is a crier.”
FAMILY TRADITIONS: “Nothing too traditional but we started a new tradition by me handing my bridal bouquet to the longest married couple in the room which were Andrew’s grandparents – married for a whooping 68 years! We found that very special and a nice new tradition, rather than throwing it.”
GLAD YOU DID IT: “We are glad we got married outside (rather than in a church, very common for where I come from) with a free ceremony in the best location possible. We are also glad we did the cake cutting straight after the ceremony. Everyone was so present and the cake was gone, people don’t eat it at night after dinner when they want to party.”
