Tell us your love story and how you met?
“We met briefly through mutual friends at our local pub when we had both had a few too many drinks. A few weeks later, Rus was having a country western party that I really wanted to go to... but I wasn’t invited. So I made our mutual friend get me a plus one so I could go!
From this night on, Rus and I became really close friends to the point where we were messaging each other every minute of every day. This friendship blossomed for 10 months and we eventually started dating, falling deeper and deeper in love.
Give us an insight into your stunning dress
My beautiful friend made my dress from scratch, Teigan Linklater. Many hours were spent designing and creating my dream dress and I am completely and utterly so obsessed with it.
Did you incorporate a theme into your day?
Not really - we absolutely adore our family and friends (and little cat) so tried to include as many of them as possible. Laughter and love is our common theme!
What was your 'glad you did it' detail of your day?
Ooooo very tricky question. I am so glad that we did absolutely EVERYTHING. Wouldn't change a thing. In particular, I am so glad that we hired a videographer! The day went so unbelievably fast, so to have the videographer capture all the special moments and be able to watch them back is something we are very grateful we did. I am also so glad that we had the most incredible team of vendors that we trusted with our big day.
What's one piece of advice you can offer our future couples?
You cannot control what is out of your control! Honestly - just embrace the day and all the little things that may not go "perfectly to plan". Be flexible, open minded and trust the people around you. We had 70km wind gusts (YES, you heard me... 70km!). You cannot control something like the weather, so don't get worked up about it - just relax go with the flow. Everything will truthfully be AMAZING in the end.” SARAH
